Arkanoid Html5

  • Arkanoid Html5

Arkanoid Html5 (Arukanoido) is an arcade game released by Taito in 1986. It expanded upon Atari’s Breakout games of the 1970s by adding power-ups, different types of bricks, a variety of level layouts, and more sculpted, layered visuals. The title refers to a doomed mother ship from which the player’s ship, the Vaus, escapes. It was widely ported to contemporary systems and followed by a series of remakes and sequels, including the 1987 arcade game Arkanoid: Revenge of Doh. Arkanoid Html5 revived the Breakout concept, resulting in many clones and similar games for home computers, even over a decade later. The power pills are completely random except that the extra life and warp pills are twice as unlikely to occur. Read More

Arkanoid is an arcade game developed by Taito in 1986. Arkanoid is an update of the early ball and paddle video games — and specifically of Atari's 1978 classic, Super Breakout — in which the player takes control of a paddle at the bottom of the screen and must use it to deflect a ball into rows of bricks at the top of the screen, thus destroying them and, eventually, clearing the screen to progress to the next level.

As well as impressive and colourful graphics, Arkanoid introduced a number of new elements to the classic bat 'n' ball gameplay. Certain bricks, when destroyed, release a power-up — in the form of a falling capsule. The player has to "catch" the capsule by touching it with the paddle (in this case, termed "Vaus") to retrieve the power-up and acquire its effects. Among the many enhancements the power-ups provided were an increased paddle size, multiple balls, a "sticky" ball (which would stick to the paddle and could be released when the player chose) and even a laser attachment that allowed the player to shoot the bricks.

Because of the game's popularity, Arkanoid was ported to numerous home consoles and computers. In addition to a large number of unauthorized clones, four official sequels of the game were developed: Tournament Arkanoid, Arkanoid: Revenge of Doh, Arkanoid Returns, Arkanoid DS in 2007, and Arkanoid Live! for the Xbox Live Arcade in 2008. Taito has announced plans to release Arkanoid Plus! for the Wii in 2009.

    Controls

    • Paddle: Use the paddle to direct the Vaus left or right across the bottom of the playfield. Rotate the paddle clockwise to move the Vaus to the right, or rotate the paddle counter-clockwise to move the Vaus to the left.
    • Fire: Press the fire button to fire twin lasers up towards the top of the screen when the Vaus is configured in laser mode. When catch mode is activated, press the fire button to release any balls attached to the Vaus.

    Vaus

You are in direct control of the spacecraft known as the Vaus at the bottom of the stage. Your primary goals are to prevent the red ball from ever falling below the paddle, and to eliminate every brick from the current stage in order to be granted access to the next stage. The Vaus has the ability to transform in two ways. One is by collecting the blue Enlarge capsule which extends the length of the Vaus. The other is by collecting the red Laser capsule which transforms the Vaus to the form shown on the right. In this configuration, you can fire Lasers up at the top of the screen. Enemies may also appear on the screen and slowly make their way down to the bottom of the screen. The Vaus can crash harmlessly into these enemies. They only serve as interference for the ball.

Where the ball hits the paddle dictates how it will bounce off the paddle. If the ball hits the silver area in the middle, it will bounce off at a sharp angle. If it hits the red bands near the sides, it will bounce off at a 45 degree angle. And if it hits the very edges of the paddle, it will bounce off at a very shallow angle. Use this information to not only keep the ball in play, but to better direct the path that it takes while you attempt to knockout all of the bricks.

    Bricks

There are three different kinds of bricks: colored bricks, silver bricks, and gold bricks. Bricks of different colors make up the majority of the walls in each area. They only require one hit to defeat, but they vary in point value from one another.

Silver and Gold bricks, on the other hand, cannot be destroyed with one hit. In fact, Gold bricks cannot be destroyed at all. They are indestructible, and therefore not counted against you towards your attempt to clear an area of bricks. Silver bricks take more than one hit to destroy. In the beginning, they only require two to destroy, but the number of hits it takes to remove them increases by one every eight stages. To calculate the number of points Silver bricks are worth, multiply 50 by the stage number.

    Power-ups

Power-ups appear after you remove a random number of non-silver bricks. Only one power-up capsule will appear at a time, and they slowly fall to the bottom of the screen. In order to activate a power-up, you must collect it with the Vaus. Power-up effects last until another power-up is collected or the current ball is lost.

In this form, you can fire lasers at the top of the screen by pushing the fire button. Lasers can be used against every brick except Gold bricks, and against enemies. Silver bricks can only be destroyed by lasers when they are hit the required number of times.
Arkanoid Blue Enlarge.gifEnlargeCollect the blue capsule to extend the width of the Vaus.
Arkanoid Green Catch.gifCatchCollect the green capsule to gain the catch ability. When the ball hits the Vaus, it will stick to the surface. Press the Fire button to release the ball. The ball will automatically release after a certain period of time has passed.
Arkanoid Orange Slow.gifSlowCollect the orange capsule to slow the velocity at which the ball moves. Collecting multiple orange capsules will have a cumulative effect and the ball velocity can become extremely slow. However, the ball velocity will gradually increase as it bounces and destroys bricks. The velocity may sometimes suddenly increase with little warning.
Arkanoid Violet Break.gifBreakCollect the violet capsule to create a "break out" exit on the right side of the stage. Passing through this exit will cause you to advance to the next stage immediately, as well as earn a 10,000 point bonus.
Arkanoid Cyan Disruption.gifDisruptionCollect the cyan capsule to cause the ball to split into three instances of itself. All three balls can be kept aloft. There is no penalty for losing the first two balls. No colored capsules will fall as long as there is more than one ball in play. This is the only power up that, while in effect, prevents other power ups from falling.
Arkanoid Gray Player.gifPlayerCollect the gray capsule to earn an extra Vaus.

    Bonus Items:

When you hit certain bricks during the game special bonus items will come down. These special items give your ship ability's that it didn't have before. When you have a special ability it will last until you get another special ability.

    Playing hints/tips

The laser powerup cancels all other active abilities.

If the you collect the laser, do not collect other powerups as they will cancel it. Use the lasers to destroy as many bricks as quickly as possible.

You can choose to ignore a doorway to the next level if you decide to complete the current screen normally.

Ignore the alien ships where possible, as they pose no threat, and are merely a distraction.

If you hit the ball at the edge of your ship it will be deflected at a low angle and will speed up. Collect a 'S' to slow it back down if possible.

Always try to get the extra life powerup. It does not matter if you miss the ball but collect the powerup as you will simply be no worse off.

The Extend and Catch powers can be used in unison to provide a larger ship with catch ability.

A game walkthrough is a guide aimed towards improving a players skill within a particular game and often designed to assist players in completing either an entire game or specific elements. Walkthroughs may alternatively be set up as a playthrough, where players record themselves playing through a game and upload or live-stream it to the internet. Walkthroughs may be considered guides on helping to enhance the experience of players, to assist towards unlocking game achievements or simply as a means to socialise with like-minded individuals as a distraction from everyday life. Walkthroughs originated as text-based descriptive instructions in magazines for playing through a video game.
